THESE SESSIONS ARE ALL ABOUT THE LOVE
Some clients prefer to capture their sweet new babies in their homes, and some clients prefer the ease + simplicity of a studio setting. There is no right option, just however you choose to remember this time!
My studio is in Bethel Park, PA, and is a relaxing environment with a beautiful and timeless look. The studio will make you and your baby feel right at home, stocked with everything you may need on your first trip out of your house! If you'd like to know more about my studio, click here!
If you prefer an in-home session, that is totally okay! I know so many of us pour a lot of love into our nurseries and want to show them off. My only disclaimer is that I cannot guarantee the same soft lighting that you see in my studio photos.
location options
Your session date is not set in stone until baby arrives. We'll pick a tentative date during our planning phone call, but if baby comes early or late, we can 100% adjust! I leave plenty of room in my calendar for reschedules, so it has never been an issue.
I typically see babies around 7-10 days after they are born, however some families choose to wait a bit longer and that is totally fine! My style of photography doesn't require a super sleepy baby, so if you want to give yourself some time to get settled we can plan for a few weeks or even a month out.
For babes that arrive significantly early, it is up to the parents on when the session takes place. Some find the extra time is needed for baby to adjust and keep the original date, but others choose to move it up. Its totally up to you and what is best for your baby.
session TIMING
My style of photography is very baby-oriented. I won't be posing them in any hard objects or in any pose that requires significant support. I mainly shoot with baby in mom + dad's arms and then on my large, soft posing bean bag that is as cozy as it sounds. I normally try for both swaddled and unswaddled photos on my beanbag. There is nothing better than tiny baby toes! If baby isn't feeling something, we move on and don't worry about it!
My galleries tend to include a lot of candid images, but we'll make sure to get a great mix of posed and emotive images during your session!
natural posing
Parents are usually worried about how their older children will cooperate during their newborn session. I have lots of experience and can assure you it will all be okay.
Sessions with toddlers look a little different because anyone with a toddler knows that they are way more particular than a newborn! We go off of their mood and when they want to participate we drop everything and get those interactions. Practicing touching toes and kissing baby's head before the session makes a big difference!

I have a growing client wardrobe for all of my mamas to take advantage of! Most items in the wardrobe can fit a wide variety of sizes, and are flattering for all stages of motherhood. I have the pieces fresh for your session and handle the washing afterward. No need to worry about a thing! The wardrobe is included in all of my collections - no additional cost.
For the rest of your fam, I am always available to give suggestions for what would look great together. Most of my clients will send photos of their final options and ask for any feedback or opinions on what will photograph best. I am more than happy to help!
